positives - entered late so no time to worry about not being properly prepared. it's not going to as hot as today.
negatives - no chance of being properly prepared. it's going to piss it down early on (probably during the bike) *.

it'll be... something. i've got a pb of 2:27 for oly i think (from barton, when i was super speedo speedy). i'd hope i can knock a couple of mins off that, but if the conditions are as wet as they might be then the bike course could be sketchy (closed roads, 5km, quite a few roundabouts and dead stops - hard turns in the wet far from ideal) and best taken more steadily.

i'm number 874, off at 8:50. transition closes at 7am, so a long wait hanging around in a wetsuit. there is a live tracker, for those that enjoy that sort of thing.

* my previous race was wet. this one looks like its going to be wet. i'm just hoping my luck for race conditions changes for IM wales. i think 12+h in the rain would be a bit grim.
