Race to the Stones - 100km

Postby Bendy Ben » 06 Dec 2013 06:46

Anyone fancy this over two days.... (or in one go - there is a 36hr time limit so that's seems doable) Its not a million miles for alot of us Ris, Jody, tritans, JB's, Faith and her james, Scibby, Si, Creg, Chappers, Sar, jibby, Artur, Kev etc etc.

Thoughts ?

A BCTTT team perhaps ?

I've seen this before and really want to do it sometime, but that's the week before IMCH so I'm out :-(

My little brother and I are planning to do that one weekend in the Spring, but not pay £119 for the privilege, and start in Wendover (so 130km or so). Don't underestimate the stress on your body of walking that far. 100km seems doable in 36 hours, but given hills, rest stops, etc it'll take much closer to 36 than you think it will. ANd walking/running at night is mentally very hard. Running it will be fine, but if you want to go that far you want to start training now.

Looks good eh Ris

Come on JB / make this one of your 30 events, get your brother along

I'm very tempted

Don't forget I spend half my waking life on nights so well used to that overnight tiredness

It's be good if a team of us could go forward ...

FFS Bendy, it's hard enough to get Tritans to do over 10km on foot! I'm still waiting for him to come out for a run* with me in December 2011/January 2012

*Admittedly it was for lumpy 13-ish mile run...

Ben.

Please remove my name from that list.

Thank you.
