Have you seen my swim fitness anywhere??

Postby albinolock » 15 Jan 2010 14:19

So last night was the first swim session of the year (for about 5 weeks!!) and it was a complete disaster, I completed my warm up (200m) then 600m of drills and I was knackered.. I started on the next part 8*25M sprints and my times were so poor that I got out of the pool in disgust and didn’t even try the 50M sprint set.

I decided to make up for it by squeezing in a 30mins swim at lunch and my shoulders were killing me!! Not only have I lost my swim ability but apparently I’ve lost a significant a amount of muscles in my shoulders..

If you see either of my swim fitness or shoulder muscles please return to me.. Reward offered!!!
How hard can it be?? and what could possibly go wrong?????

No worries SGM, I can only asume it'son holiday with mine somewhere. Really struggling with swimming since Chrimbo, no fitness, stamina or technique. If it get's any worse, then it's Duathlons only this year.

Have you checked down the back of the sofa?

first one back is usually a total bastit, expect the return to full swim awesomeness to be quick though.

Helpful things a mum would say --

Where did you see it last...?

Where did you lose it...?

WTF!

Try the bottom of the swimming pool, you may have dropped it there. You might have to swim up and down a few times, say 30,before you catch sight of it.But keep looking.

Umm, I may have found it. Somehow I've managed nearly 14,000m in the past 4 days and I'm swimming the fastest since I reached peak fitness in June. Did a 6:37 400m at the training session this evening :D :D :D

I'm sure knowing my luck that I will have lost it again by Monday, hopefully it finds it's way back to you.

Now, has anyone seen my bike fitness ... ?

similar problem here after a 4 week layoff. My previous swim "fitness" (I can't really call it fitness) even teamed up with the salt water in the caribbean to burn the insides of my nostrils after 15mins. At this point I wondered how the hell people swim 2miles at Kona  Though with the purchase of a scuba mask and distracted by pretty fish, I beasted myself for an hour.. a nice long drill-free session to get my confidence back up.
No? Tough. We're doing it.
