Inner tubes with removable valves..

Postby kfjatek » 20 Oct 2015 17:29

So - with the new lovely 50/90 wheel combo it looks like I've launched myself into the world of valve extensions. And none of the tubes I have at home seem to have removable valve cores. Which means tube shopping.

Does anyone have any recommendations on these?

You do have to top up pressures a little more often

I do have valve extenders (came with my previous wheelset, actually), what I'm lacking is inner tubes that you can install them on - you need removable valve cores on these to be able to install the extenders..

These fit over the original inner tube valve I do believe

Might not be understanding your plight however

Ps - pictures of said new wheels on bike and on social media please with the appropriate #'s

Ah, they may be the external ones that you screw on top of the inner tube valve - fair enough! :-)

And more importantly, make sure fairly often that the extenders are fully screwed on. A lesson I learned the hard way :(

I use the Topeak Presta Valve extender, don't need to mess about with removable valves then.

What about valve extenders and a valve key? You can get tubes with 60mm (or 80mm) valves, one extender as the 60's work with 50mm deep rims, and a valve key

Tubes with extra long valves? Or is a 90 beyond the realms of such a simple solution?
