A bump on this one folks - today is the last day to register and pay the lowest price for each distance.

Registration (and prices) here, if anyone's interested:

I think I might go back again next year for the HIM...

Do it!

I'm up for the HIM again. If I actually manage to get my butt in gear and do some decent rehab with my knee I may even try and do some decent training for it and try and improve my placing :-)

Ok am going to enter now while I think about it. :-)

Ok, I've entered. It only cost £43 using PayPal. if I don't end up going for whatever reason then it's not a massive loss :-)

Bit the bullet. HIM distance here I come (back)! :o

From tomorrow the entry fee goes up ca. 5 quid, until end of August. So still great value at 48 squid folks (for a HIM, the shortie is cheaper).

Hey, Boss-ski, I know we've got lots of race and cluster reports from Polska, but what's the quick summary of the course?

Looks to me like: cool-ish lake swim, one lap + rolling bike on closed course with good surfaces + bloody tough lumpy run on loose/sandy surface.

Distances pretty much spot-on for HIM. That about right?
I had fun once. It was awful.

For HIM:

Swim - 1 loop. lake temp will be approx. 17 deg (wetsuit). Lovely clear water. You will overtake as Poles can't sight (verified empirically)
Bike - 4 loops. Closed roads. Super smooth asphalt surface. Fast. 1st half of loop feels uphill, 2nd downhill. A couple of km short I'd say. You will be overtaken as the shit swimmers are fast on the bike.
Run - 4 loops. Through lovely forest. Deceptively challenging. Technical. Lumpy and on challenging surface. One to die for/on (depending on your personal inclination). You will be overtaken as you will most likely blow up having spent yourself trying (and failing) to keep up with the fast cyclists.

For QIM the number of loops on bike & run is 2 ('doh), the swim one is shorter.

Here's the course info on their website (in Polish): http://triathlonsierakow.pl/info/trasy

Hands down the best organised race I've taken part in. People *will* go out of their way to help you deal with the clusters you hit them with (this year: disc without a tub, left behind chip, etc.). Awesome support - not just from competitors' friends and families, but also folks out on their front porches cheering you on as you whizz past on your lovely Argon18.
