As we know, the climbs in the HotW are tougher than the climbs in the ronde. :D

Also, there isn't any flat. Whereas in the ronde there is 90+km before you get to the start of the climbs.

But even the pros use slightly lower gearing - Sagan had 39x26 this year.

But the had other tricks to make it easier.

36x24 on 23mm is the reference for hotw. And it's not easy to do it on that. ;). Most people were on lower gears and wider tyres than that ;)

I wasn't a million miles off that in '13. But it was a tongue in cheek post, mainly in reaction to Ben's "Training ? Pah! Overrated" signature ;)

Well frame has arrived after a custom paint job and subtle graphics
It's amazing.
839g for frame and fork

I'm a bit pleased. WAT is mind blowing however - the rest on the build is going to hit me hard financially. ImageImageImageImage

And indeed my birthday has yielded some goodies. The above bars order is cancelled as I've been lucky enough to get these : hubba hubba ......ImageImage

Bike build

Postby Bendy Ben » 07 Jan 2015 22:22

So the stem and bars have arrived

Need a few more spacers for the fit and some saw work on the steerer ; and no I'm not doing it

The "superlite" theme is working well - mega light front end.

More to do. Funds dependant I should have the chorus Groupset at the end of the month.

Then it's build Time proper :-)
