Fri 7/1 - Bootcamp - very muddy! Then swim 2.6km in 1:07:19. Hadn't been going to swim, but then guilt took over... funnily enough, exactly the same think happened to one of my training buddies, who materialised in the pool about 2 mins after me, so was nice to have some feet to follow for half of the sets!
Sat 8/1 - Run 5.6km in 31:49
http://www.strava.com/activities/111913750 - the usual killing time during judo routine. Pavements very flooded, so a lot of leaping over puddles / squelching through muddy grass verges, and a mean rose bush stole my hat half way round. Then got home, and although I know that a missed training session should just be let go, couldn't do that, so headed to the garage for Thursday's missed turbo (TR - Tinker)
http://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/rides/722914-Tinker. First ride with the new setup, and felt really good. Have a nasty feeling that I need to re-test FTP (
), as easily hitting the target power. Perhaps I didn't jam the wheel as tightly onto the trainer as usual? Still, all very comfortable.
Sun 9/1 - up in London overnight taking the kids & their cousins on a trip to the theatre (Emil & the Detectives at the National - highly recommend), so a bit tired, but heaved myself out for another swim under the cover of darkness. 2.7km in 1:04:23.
Mon 10/1 - Turbo - TR Red Lake
http://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/rides/731512-Red-Lake. Feeling good again, though shattered later in the evening. Not sure I was being entirely responsible leaving eldest child unsupervised making a cake while I hid in the garage - and there were scenes of devastation when I returned to the house... she still has a lot to learn about washing up!!
Still doing well on the sugar avoidance - managed to refuse a bag of skittles which the BAT had bought me (
), and am generally finding that I am feeling a lot better... long may it continue. Wine consumption is also at pretty low level (luckily, as Majestic don't currently have any special offers on any of my favourite quaffing wines, and stocks are getting a bit low post the festive season).
I must be unwell?
