hmmm

well yes... admitted it, but have continued self-medicating with food... yah... still that's then...

now, after a really crappy day, got back home and for the first time in about 12months cracked the bike pump out, got the tyres up to pressure, checked over mechanicals and set off for the hardest ride of my life... a 20min loop around the local park... I'm wrecked (but not in a need months off way) so baby steps back, current goal is to increase to 3 x 30min sessions of something a week...and drop down from the near 19stone towering heights... 'nuff said on that for now.

I thought it was running around looking for shoes. Then gloves. Then glasses. Then helmet. Then shoes and gloves again. Then deciding the tyres are too soft and looking for the pump. Then realising that the weather has now changed and you probably will need a rain cape after all. Then finding gloves again. And glasses. Then waiting for the GPS to find the satellites. Then realising you are cold and need to start with the rain coat on.

And that's assuming you could find some clean shorts in the first place.

I thought it was running around looking for shoes. Then gloves. Then glasses. Completely forgetting helmet. Then shoes. Then deciding the tyres are too soft and looking for the pump. Sweating at the end of pumping up the tyres, Then realising that the weather has now changed and you probably will need a rain cape after all. Then finding gloves again. And glasses. Then waiting for the GPS to find the satellites. Then realising you are cold and need to start with the rain coat on. Starting, then turning the phone off so it ends recording of the ride...after just 16secs, then not realising you didn't have your lid on till someone mentions it on the forum you've come back to the next day...

And all that was assuming you could find some clean shorts in the first place and once found wrestling with them and shouting saying it's frikkin lycra... lycra stretches and they fit me last year wth is going on...

that was more what it was like... so I'm starting again really...

The hardest step to take is the first one Lee. well done. You have next year to aim for.

Oh and finding all your biking gear... and fitting into your lycra :-)
