Paligap

Ok, time for the fessing up another S11 moment. Last year I bought a 20 hole PT to use in my Mavic Kysirums Elites only to find that you can't retro fit onto mavic since they are straight laced spokes and the PT uses J-Bends....so I fitted the PT to a Reynolds rim....lets say after 3 spokes snapping, I had to admit defeat...I was too heavy for a 20hole PT.

Anyway as it stood, I was going to lose a fortune if I flogged the PT but I then to spoke to Paligap, who asked Powertap if it was possible to sell me a 32hole Powertap body, Paligap would then swap over the internals and send me it back..

Powertap said yes, so now Paligap are going to swap it over for me - all I have to do is pay for the shell which is about £40 or so...Fair play to Paligap, they didn't need to do that but they did and I'm a happy camper again.

Least I know I will be back training to power over the winter :D

Always nice to hear of good customer service, do they have a weight limitation on them ?

Yes they do on the versions that use J-Bend spokes. Powertap have released another PT which can accept straight laced spokes so this would be less of an issue. In essence unless you are a 65-70kg rider then forget the 20hole PT. 24 hole PT can be used but the safe bet is 28 or 32hole.

I went fo the 32hole, even though I'm only 81kg, since the roads round my way are shocking
