Storing wheels for winter

Postby kfjatek » 26 Oct 2013 22:13

The deep section wheels came off The Highlander today and won't come back on for a good five months. This may be a daft question, but: how do you folks store your "good" wheels for the winter, while the "second best" pair takes over?

Tyres on/off? If on, inflated/deflated? Etc.... Last thing I'd like to find out in spring that they're completely useless..

Pop them in the post to The Southern Riviera and I'll look after them ;)

Either keep using them or stuff them in the rafters in the garage along with all the other stuff not being used...actually, as new garage is under construction, leave them in the hallway...

Clean then. Get them in shape so that when you take them out in spring they are ready to go. This usually involves some kind of lubricant. Pop then in their cosy padded bags and hang them vertical somewhere.

That's one pair of Aura 5s cleaned and stored. Thanks for the pointers folks!

Sorry Kev, they're like my babies to me and I know better than leave children alone around you. ;-)

I'm with Jack, put them away in a condition you would like to find then next year. If possible, hang them up, but be careful of the carbon elements. If the are stood up, rotare everyone and then
