Sleeveless Wetsuit

Postby Seasider71 » 14 Jul 2014 12:23

Does anyone know the rules governing sleeveless wetsuits in competition ??

I am getting ready to purchase a new wetsuit, and I notice that Huub do a sleeveless wetsuit (TFN £120) I always have problems with the shoulders and thought this would be the ideal solution. The body is the same makeup as the 3:5 version but without the rotation panels, and compared to £495 for a full suit this seems to be a bit of a saving.

However I do not want to purchase it, if I will be unable compete in a wetsuit only swim just because there are no arms.

Any clever fish out there ????

The main reason for a wetsuit is to retain the body core heat. As far as I am aware you can go sleeveless, the only rules being the thickness and the new ruling regarding the arm panels.

The only time full cover may be required is for specific races in harsh conditions, not the UK.
Extinction is the rule. Survival is the exception.
