Does anyone who did the Vit last year (or before that) happen to have the PDF race info brochure? Not available for this year's edition yet and I've been planning to do some sneaky race research.

Its a great faste bike course. THis was only my second year of tri and i did a fastish time on my bog standard road bike. You should fly it. The run is flaisyh on paths except for a rally rubbush bit of grass. its the heat that makes it hard. There is no shade at all on the run

Eeek, no worries.

Judging by Will's GPS data, the bike route is even shorter than they advertise - 82km vs. 85.... Flat run too... Should I be thinking of a sub-5h time? ;-)

Yep.My garmin may be a be short as it was on smart record, but it thinkit is shorter than they say unless thay have changed the route. if it helps, i did it in 5:50 and I couldnt swim and it was my 1st every 1/2 marthon run.

See if there is a dam buster pack out as it the same bike loop but only once. The runs is also basically the same

As above, the run is flat apart from one short but painful hill near the start, which you do twice. It's mostly on paths apart from the last 1/2 mile or so of the outleg which is grass, so approx 2 miles.

The bike is a bit short (about 50 miles I think), but is nice and fast. The infamous 'Ripple' is not bad at all, just 3 rolling hills really. There's a bit of a drag up a backroad to get to the NE part of the loop. Both times I've done it there's a westerly wind, and it makes the bottom half of the course, on fantastic quality tarmac, seriously quick.

Great race. With what you did in PL Artur, you should definitely be looking at sub 5 as a target.

That WOULD be nice, but not really doable I'm afraid.

Email Mark or speak to him about it while we're out in France, seeing as he organises it.

I echo that you will easily go under 5 hours there. I ran a 1.42 half there 3 years ago. You'll fly. I think the bike course out in Poland was tougher overall, although the ripple is steeper. But there's only that and the other drag that Ian M mentioned.

It's not closed roads though so will be some traffic to contend with.

Do a recce of the bike course if you can as I found that really helpful. I'd offer to go with you as I know the route but one I'm slow and two I'm crocked. :-(

If there's a club recce of the route, I'll try and come over for it, date dependant.
