Looked at doing this when we went to OZ for a holiday, a while back, they ran the 70.3 on the same day, had limited numbers for each event, and as it was the Australian championships as well, the likely hood of getting a place was pretty much diddly squat. Fantastic course though. So in the end it just wasn't worth the hassle.
Sold out in about 8 hours, fingers on the enter key.

Yep, saw it sold out quickly when I was browsing potential IM races for next year. My brother and his family are a 3hr drive from the event so with other things going on at the min, this is perfect timing. Downside is a salty swim though it's between boats which sounds interesting enough. I'll try not to do a Dave. The bike and run have a few small hills that no doubt will gradually turn into Everest as the day goes on ;-) they still had places so, as they say, I'm in :D

Man that really does look special. Very jealous.

One who doesn't, will find an excuse.

If only it wasn't likely to be about 45degrees on the day then it would be great...not that I'm jealous or anything

I was looking at the West Aus one at Bussleton but even though the then GAT had friends a few hours drive away the costs were too much, I'd love to do Melbourne too but that again went the way of the former GAT as I don't think staying with her family would still be an option
