I don't remember much about it at all really, sorry. Just that it was a little hilly. It's the swim i remember most as i was so cold afterwards I could barely use my hands. I do remember not really getting into a rhythm with it either though.

Just wanted to say good luck to you all doing the half and OD at Hever at the weekend. I sadly won't be there as I twisted my ankle nearly 5 weeks ago and despite it only being a minor sprain, it hasn't healed yet. It's also thrown up some other issues, so more rehab for me. I planned to come down and support you all, but I'm struggling with a massive freelance job so need to work. If that changes I'll be down to see you all. Gutted not to be there. Typically I did my ankle about 2 days after entering and they say I can't defer my entry to next year. Boooo.

I'm out too. :(

Down with a cold & chesty cough, which only got worse in NYC over the weekend. Gutted to finish the season on a low, but heart health more important. :(

Good luck folks!

Ditto, except the NYC bit, mine got worse and I was still at home.

Looks like this is the race that kills BCTTTers without having to even get on the start line

I'm kind of glad in a way. I've just had a text saying the water is 14 degrees. Brrr

MD6 and Kwerty hope you are both feeling better soon.

Scibby and Guy, if you guys are still in good luck.

I got back from a 3 day trip to Switzerland last night and feel terrible; streaming head cold etc. Debating whether or not to do it. It looks f**king cold. The truth is my motivation is rock bottom. I have managed just one event this year, have had god know how many physio sessions to work on my glutes and hips. But I have never not turned up at an event before, physically, or mentally. Maybe that is the problem. Very miserable.

I'm glad one of us isn't ill or broken. Weird about not getting a text. I got two yesterday, one about water temp and one to say what wave I was in. Check you're on the start list Scibbs if there is one.

i did try to defer my entry to next year last week, but I was too late. They did say I could do down to the sprint or do it as a relay but neither of those would have worked for me.

It sounds like you should rest up and get well.

I kind of know how you feel, Guy. My year has been the same. And just when I thought I might be making some progress I twist my ankle and then discover I have even more issues.
