Windsor Triathlon - 15-June-2014

Postby Bopomofo » 01 May 2014 12:10

Oh FFS. The Fear has just sneaked up on me and force-fed me a huge dose of laxatives.

I've just realised that it is 6 weeks until Windsor Tri and I am fat, unfit and utterly de-motivated.

I'm not even sure I can swim the distance. Just checked the cancellation policy and I'd basically get feck all back.

Balls.

Anybody else turning up?

You know you want to, really!
It's a grand day out... I am still planning on it on the back of not much swimming or running (and as the BAT discovered last year, the river is shallow enough on the outward leg to stop and have a bit of a rest if it all gets too much... then float back with the current).
Your TT bike will enjoy a run out surely?

I can't swim the distance (tried on tues). Have run 10km twice since Nov. Have done a handful of 10's but nothing serious on the bike.

Yet.

I am uber excited. I am planning on taking my usual strategy to rediculoisly new levels.

Try and comete the swim.
Throw every ounce of my being into the bike.
Suffer like no one has ever suffered before on the run.

Surley it has to be worth going, just to witness 1.07 of my misery :D

Well, I just went for a panic swim and managed the distance. Just.

I think my biggest issues are motivation and weight. I've totally lost my mojo and I've been eating crap and drinking far too much.

I might start a training log to capture the full horror of a complete BCTTT panic-train / break training plan.

Wonder if we'll get the same start time, Ade. That would be a laugh.

It would indeed be a laugh.

Im returning to fit nat for a couple of months. I seem to have taken my eye off the ball over the last few months. All my previous good work has been undone. And some.

I promise you, you wont want to miss my run.

I could come and watch; might even bring a whip with me and crack it as you two run past, shouting "come on you fatsos, move it!".

Don't have a whip handy, but I bet Kevy'll be partial to lending me his.

EDIT: One of his.

I shall weigh myself in the morning and report back. I suspect your heckle will be entirely justified, though. :(
