Actually, my mother rides a 1950s sit up and beg bike (suspect with basket) with a rather fetching William Morris re-upholstery job on the saddle (which I suspect hasn't been out of the garage since I was a teenager).... she thinks this cycling stuff is crazy (and that I look like a beetle when TT-ing) - haven't even dared to tell her about my crash.... she is a firm believer in comfortable shoes though...
