its definately useful for speed and distance to give you that extra push! cadence is ace too - though i've found in a race i got about 10rpm higher which seems like i'm meeting hardly any resistance on the pedals! i've got a blackburn delphi 6 with wired cadence and HR (not tested in a race yet) and wireless speed - very nice it is too!
