Maybe make this a sticky topic so it's always on show?

Hi,
First posted on BCTTT yesterday after some sort of industrial action on the 220 Website !?!?

12 months ago I was 18st 3lbs (i'm 6'5" so carried it fairly well) and was blowing out of an ass after running half a mile. I got home that evening and looked myself in the mirror and decided I needed to do something!

First up Manchester 10K (1 hour 7 minutes), second up Mersey Tunnel 10K (1 hour 5 minutes). Then one night I had a Heinekens with a mate and decided to sign up to the Buxton Sprint followed by the Cheshire Sprint

12 months later I've lost 2 and a half stone, a 2 and a half grand (carbon bike etc), knocked 20 minutes off my 10K time and signed up to 3 sprints and 2 olys this year and am massively hooked!

Whilst I've got the stage, can I also take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to the forums - you've taught me loads, you've saved me loads of cash and you've made me spend even more than I've saved!

Jon

Welcome jrhunt78
which other races have you signed up for, chances are some of the BCTTT will be racing and can show you even better ways to empty your wallet.

Wilmslow Sprint
Macclesfield Sprint
Llandudno Olympic (same day as world cup final - could be intersening if England get there)
Cheshire
Tatton Park Olympic

Biggest limiting factor really is time driven by the high WAT applied to it!

well...

I suppose it'd be rather remiss of me to not post here.

I've been running (again after a 10yr break) since December 2009 up to around 6miles on the Long and Slow Run...
Just started cycling and swimming again... and well I've decided to plump for IMUK2011 :o  ok it's been done before hoping I can do it too, I'm hoping to raise money too, but most of all I'm doing this for me.

I need to lose lbs (4 stones worth of them), and lose as little in the way of £'s  I fear the latter may not be possible...

Good for you :-) I may just do an IM in the future at some point... think I will do an HIM first though ;-)

And well done for getting back into the running after a long time out. I know from experience that it isn't easy at all.
