When does the BTF membership year start? Is it April to April like ours ?

I'll have look into the athletic side.. but I have a feeling it costs about £5 each to register with them.. alhtough the monies saved thoruhg the memberships always repay itself's through reduced enter fees.

When are you next down my way Mr Hughes?
How hard can it be?? and what could possibly go wrong?????

WRT EA membership (or equivelant)... MOST races only ask for CLUB affiliation not an EA number foir you vash off - at least IME locally round these 'ere parts.

Where EA membership WILL help (AIUI) if you wish to race in France where EA membership = doctor's approval, otherwise you need to get a specifically worded note from your doctor,

I got EA membership last year (AFTER I'd done Paris HM!) and it never benefitted me as opposed to my marlborough RC membership (£5 a year) did in EVERY UK event I entered (admittedly not that many straight running races as it turned out).

In terms of BCTTT being a member club of EA... I am advised the paperwork/admin is horrendous.

I joined the BTF, the car sticker is quite good!

I think financially I come out of it just about better off. This takes into account reduced race fees and the the fact that I don't need public liability cover on my bike insurance.

got my 2010 BTF pack in the post this morning.

A quite disgusting waste of "posh" paper in the handbook and seperate rules booklet. All of which is available on the website [1]. the handbook contains a race calendar... which at this stage of the game is never going to be anywhere near fully updated etc (not the BTF's fault per se of course).

I am appalled.

[1] paper/postal options of course would be beneficial to those without internet. Butthere is no option on joining AFAICR to reject paper/post stuff...
