Quick word of warning - make sure you remember your sessions right. I did number 2 on tuesday and had it down as:

300w/y
8x50 drills
4x125@20secs - should have been 3x125
4x175@30secs - should have been 2x175
4x125@20secs - should have been 3x125
8x50 drills
200c/d

I was f*cked

Thankfully i remembered it right - it was:

300 w/u
8x50drills
16x25 (10s between)
1x400 (60s off)
16x25 (10s off)
8x50 drills
200m c/d
I have to admit the last set of 25s were a little ragged... I couldn't have done any more, and besides i wanted to get home and have dinner.

Dids i think you're right it does seem excessive, the first swim on the plan totalled about 2.5k too, which is a long way. I would have prefered it start with maybe 1,500 and built up slowly, which is what i have done through not managing to finish the sessions.

I'm on that one tonight. I hate doing 25s, it's really boring :(

i'm loosely using this programme to give me some structure and build endurance for longer swims this year. once i've done the w/u, drills and main set, doing drills again is difficult given how tired and ragged my stroke is. i struggle to drill with good form, which is sort of the point of them.

Crackin' job mate.......I love your enthusiasm for it......I love that feeling when you get out of the pool and feel like you've had a good session :)
