First road ride of the year done.
Not too bad all things considered.
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/492021022
Knees not too bad all things considered. And, more importantly, I enjoyed myself.
A lot. In fact, I've out the turbo away :-D
Then went out for a wander with the dog.
Massage tomorrow to try and sort out my shoulder.
Then a week off at Martin House.
I've done DNF. I've done DNS.
The future is DNE :D

Massage went well. Sprinting after ice cream van to get kids 99's, not so well.
Something went snap in my right ankle :-(
Have been hobbling since.
Week off at Martin House, lots of walking - not fun at the moment.
Lots of good food, which has resulted in a weight of
216.6np
So an increase of half a stone in a week ffs.
I will take some small consolation that some will be water weight.
So back on the proverbial wagon.
On the plus side, losing the weight before Martin House means I haven't gone higher than I was.
Clutching at straws, I know...

A variety of reasons, but mainly because where we staying at the hospice the food is excellent - all home made from local produce, by an excellent cook.
Add into that Amy's birthday, my birthday and a trip to London.
Opportunities to eat excellent and quite amazing stuff that we don't normally have.
And as I said, although the weight is irksome, I know it will come off quickly - I do not regret one single tasty mouthful! :-D

214np
Yup. Full of it.
Went to see Howard Rainey yesterday and had a go on this:

Should be interesting to see if he can help get me back into things.
He's also built a kid version, and is quite keen to meet Beatrice - which could be interesting.

The Verti-run looks interesting, it also looks similar to the leg stress test machine that were in the sickbay of NCC-1701.
Hope it works for you.

Cheers - fingers crossed.
Its current location looks nothing like the sick bay of the Enterprise....
And there's an awful lot more smoke too....

Back on track.
Gym today for the first time in a while.
Will take it nice and easy. Am going to see if I can get a swim in sometime this week too - The lake's just opened, so I might give that a bash. Might be a little chilly for poor little me though.
If the weather improves will also try and get out on the bike.
Will be going to see Howard again on Friday.
In amidst a variety of physio/ot/othotics/ social worker appointments for Beatrice.
Hard week ahead in that sense, so will have to be mindful of what I'm eating at all times.

209.6np
So here's the good news - 100% of gym sessions completed!
Hurrah!
Also went for a decent walk with Ruby, which was nice in the Sun.
Went to see Howard for a session yesterday. It wasn't what I was expecting. It's one of the hardest hours I have had in quite a long time.
Went on the verti run, which was easier than last time. Am getting increased ankle flexion, which is good.
At this stage he's taking the approach that I am totally wrecked - mostly as a result of the bike crash when I was 21 - and need building back from the base up.
Did a lot of work on hips, glutes, core, balance.
It was really hard work and by the end I was piss wet through, knackered and very, very happy.
Best work out I've had in a long time.
Seems to think he can have me running in time for the relays. Which is excellent.
Haven't been swimming this week, which is annoying, but am rather chuffed with everything else.
Supposed to be starting fitnat next week, but can't face the shopping list!
Milk makes things soooooo easy.
