So for the week, my tally is:
2 x verti run
2 x gym
1 x bike
1 x swim
Which means I've actually sbr'd in one week! Hurrah!
5h8m, of actual 'training' as opposed to exercise. 13 weeks to the relays.... I might actually be able to do it :-D
I've done DNF. I've done DNS.

Great stuff, SoS. You'll be fine for the relays: all you really need to be able to do is eat undercooked burgers and [optionally] have a beer or two.

But, keep it as a goal: With 13 weeks to go you could aim for doing your share of the cut-off time and not worry about asking fast guys to take up the slack.
I had fun once. It was awful.

Interesting idea in principle - and I think I'll be fine for the swim and the bike - it's just the run that's the problem.
Definitely something to work toward!

211.4np
33.8%
Measurements to be taken when Amy gets up.
I'm a bit disappointed tbh. Have eaten healthily all week. Have limited crap to virtually none. Have limited wine to twice. No beer.
Have trained a reasonable amount.
It's very annoying.
Added to which, my right shoulder hurts like buggery after yesterday, which is somewhat irksome, to say the least.

Aims for this week:
2 x verti
1 x bike
1 x swim (depending on shoulder)
2 x gym
1 x walk

Might be tricky with it being half term though....
Anyway - new dawn, new day...

Started the week with a tough verti run session yesterday.
Short warm up, then straight on to a 20 min session, including HIIT's.
It's the first time I've properly 'run' in a long while and I loved every painful second of it. I'm thinking of getting a foot pod / cadence sensor to see how 'fast' I'm going. Might be interesting to chart progress in tandem with HR.
This was then followed by conditioning work on a wide variety of torture devices, followed by stretching.
90 minutes later, I was well and truly bolloxed.
In 3 weeks, there has been a definite improvement - I've gone from walking slowly, to jogging, to slow running with sprint intervals.
Which considering my track record for the past year or so, I'm very happy with.
I'll be going twice a week for the foreseeable future, in the hope that I can get it sorted.

Am contemplating changing gym routine to twice a week - whole body exercises with warm ups and then 3x5 main sets.

Not sure if I'll get a ride in this week, as I'll have the kids all day on my own on Thursday and Friday.

Shoulder hurts like fuck after swimming the other day - but it's the right one, not the one I had an op on. Fingers crossed I can avoid an op on it, but I think it may be inevitable.

Another verti run session yesterday.
Which was very hard indeed. I'm aching like hell today.
Have the kids all day today and tomorrow on my own, so not sure what I'll get done.
Might be able to sneak out with the dog later... maybe.....

Cheers dude. It's nice to be doing something that vaguely resembles training....
I'm even contemplating taking little donkey out in the rain!
