don't worry about the 2-piece - your race number may well cover the worst of it.

seriously - if it fits and is comfortable then the rest is unimportant. by the time you are on the run you'll be hot, sweaty and covered in gel residue and drool. whether you are showing a bit of 'euro-midriff' will be the least of your worries.

Drool? What drool? I'm planning to cross the line fresh as a spring breeze!

Particularly the shorts are not feeling comfortable. Will reconsider using the top, but shorts need to go. They feel crap (too low), look crap (too short), and rub my thighs on the bike too. :|

There will be some hardly-used club kit for sale after I'm back from PL, regardless of whether I end up racing in it or not.

Do you want to borrow my trisuit for a tester? It's not getting any use for another half year or so.

Nah, I'll probably wing it in my Orca shorts (tried & tested) and a Compressport top that I've just ordered. Or put to club top on too, TBC.

Thanks for the offer though!

Plan completion score: 10/10 (181/250, 72%)
Physio consistency score: 0/6 (41/116, 35%)
Weight: TBC (WoW delta: TBC, total delta: TBC), BF: TBC

Soooooo. Race week is here. Pre-race stress is here too. It was a good training week, although for some reason I didn't feel on top of my game in training. I guess my body was exhausted after the high-intensity Week 28 and is recovering. I hope that's the case, anyway.

Nighthawk now packed and waiting patiently in her box. Still waiting for a couple of last-minute deliveries too - ordered a new pair of Conti GP 4000s, just to be on the safe side (the old ones are looking a bit iffy), and the Compressport tri top.

Had to rearrange the toolbox solution, as the PRO thing was doing my head in - so it seems in the end I'll race with an upside-down saddle bag rather than a tool bidon as originally planned. Probably for the better, actually - although I'm a bit anxious as I haven't managed to test it out, and won't until Friday when realistically it'll be too late. Ah well.

Otherwise, I'm as ready as I could ever hope to be. Am I happy & confident where I am with each of the sports? Quite. If I were to evaluate, I'd say Swim @ 90%, Bike @ 85%, Run @ 80%. But in the wider context, this is as good as it gets.

It'll be a tough one, but whatever happens I'm determined to come back with my shield rather than on it. And there's plenty of variables that can sway the race either way. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!
