Sunday 26th May 2013:
Local Sportive - probably as elsewhere Sportives tend to be competitive non races - where a very fast front group of ex-racers goes out and the idea is to stay in that group for as long as possible. In fact the success or otherwise of your performance in one of our local Sportives is measured in "how far did you stay with the lead group?"
Today I was the lead group. My club leader had to go back to rescue a teammates' puncture - I and five others took it on. We flew and I felt very strong. Most of the group could not do their turn on the front so the five of us who could do so REALLY drove it - it was grrreat
At the moment I am in good shape. Forthcoming week is a recovery week so I will have a big distance but at recovery pace

Sportive Data: (will be available on Garmin Connect search treefrog2)
Distance (inc. ride out & back): 178.87kM, Time: 5:50:54, Ave Speed: 30.6kph, Ave HR: 125bpm

Single Gear cycling and Steady-State cycling on rolling roads. I decided to do 30kM single gear (53/19) and then just cycle at a steady pace. I actually quite enjoyed it. Also it might be time to move up a gear on the S/G session
Good session I felt quite good
Data:
Distance: 88.07kM, Time: 3:19:53, Ave Speed: 26.4kph, Ave H.R:110bpm

Saturday 1st June 2013:
No Train - best laid plans and all that! The 100kM+ steady state cycle was abandoned as I had to do various bits and pieces for my dear old Mother
This also meant a HUGE home cooked meal washed down with a bottle of Rioja!
