The Decline

Postby scibby » 15 Jun 2012 08:59

So week 2 completed at work.

Total weight lost: 1kg - just by not eating everything in sight
Total training sessions this week: 1 - did some lunges and kettlebells and couldn't walk for 3 days.
Total 'bad' nights: (ie Elsa gets up) - 5. This is a baby who has slept straight through every night for almost a year. *sigh*
Total kit purchased: 2 pairs of trainers. 1 new helmet. Cycling shorts. (I don't even get paid for another month)

Oh and I ate some bettroot. does that count?

Oh well - next week can only be better...

Yes, yes it does.

I would say that is the equivilant of 2, 10km runs. Although juice is the preffered option.
One who wants to do something, will find a way.
One who doesn't, will find an excuse.

You should be coming to France. Won't be the same without you cooking, falling off and making me laugh (read me laughing at you)

Next year and get on with the training FFS. :D

October isn't far away you know ;)

Oh yes, it can. Am sick, again... Sore throat and about a gazillion mouth ulcers... Which surprises me cos I actually thought I'd eaten really well last week.

Anyhow. France ain't all its cracked up to me. I remember smelly boys, loads of kit all over the place and generally obscenities every 5 sec. Not jealous at all.. Plus it's full of frogs....

I went running today. No shit!

Actually had some good thoughts:
- so I might not ever get back to proper training. Or not before I'm 40 anyhow. But that doesnt mean I should stop completely!
- I actually really enjoy once I get round to doing something
- it doesn't need to be complicated or time consuming. Surely I'm allowed 45 minutes of me time...
- I don't need to follow a plan. I should just do what I fancy..,

And another week of not eating Elsa's food and not sitting in coffee shops drinking frapuccinos see me at my lightest since , oh about, 18 months. Another kilo lost this week.

We have a brilliant canteen at work too, which helps. The food is made up then so you can swap noodles for veg, for example...

Shame I've just blown about a grand on work suits and shirts in a bigger size - I'm now about 1.5 kilos away from my weight when i was a consultant...

In amongst getting plastered all weekend, I managed a run...

And I've found out that there is now a parkrun in Guildford (1 mile away - perfect warmup...)

And a neighbour allegedly did 23.1 for her first ever race for life last weekend... Can possibly understand how. And the fact that she says she did "23 point one" leads me to think she might have got it wrong!! surely not...

Damn it i gotta get fast by Saturday (I can't hold 6min per km at the mo, the only consoldation is that I'm running on very hilly trail...). I think I'll train today. Am torn between doing a run or doing a bundle of lunges a la creggo...

Race for life courses aren't noted for their accuracy in my experience
