yep from what I've read it's day surgery. the surgeon didn't recommend it though. comforting to know he's not knife happy. going for an MRI on Thursday to see what's going on. he needs to do something more than just recommend refit of orthotics as it's getting ridiculous now. He floated the idea of some sort of an injection. At this stage I don't care how long the layoff is, I know I'll get running fitness back and a few weeks out from cycling is nothing in the grand scheme.

Might be worth asking how definitive a treatment this injection is. If he says it either a temporary measure or has a relatively high chance of recurrence then he might see how much it'll continue impacting your life and training.

The results of my MRI are in and it's a case of surgery to remove the mortons. No running for 6weeks after the 22nd should give me about 6weeks before ADITL. cycling after 3weeks and swimming after 2. I'm quite positive as it could mean running pain free :-) time to make the most of a week in the Lakes!!

That's good news, and the recovery times look quite nice too. Onwards and upwards (which pretty much defines the Lakes)!

Good news indeed and I bet you can't wait to run pain free :D Well, until something else breaks but at least it won't be your foot causing the pain

A little bird tells me he's had his @rse kicked today.

Well, not so much kicked, as dragged out through his nostrils in an attempt to become the strava king of the mountain up Fleet Moss. (see 100 hill climbs, original, for details)
