Had a fab run on Sunday 3 reps up boxhill. The Garmin died on the first rep so I forgot about times heart rates etc and just enjoyed the run. Have been in lot's of pain ever since :( Time to visit the physio to just check I'm doing it all incorrectly and what I should be doing. V pi**ed off as the niggles are becoming real issues. Whish I had not signed on to Ball buster but these things happen. The training plan I was following is now filed in the bin and I'm taking it 1 day at a time. Cycling is all good working hard on all hills and feeling good for that.
Don't feel inspired to train motivation is lacking = bad times.

OK The physio worked her magic and I can run again 5 k sat in 21min 14sec very happy with that effort. All problems are relating back to ITB  Don't like him never have .
I have spent the whole weekend drawing up a new plan, the only advice I did get was to forget about my original time for the event and just go to enjoy it. A sound piece of advice I think now all I have to do is follow it. I will start posting my workouts up again as I realise I have been a bit poor at this.

So Problems with Mr ITB Monday and Tuesday making Tuesdays run a slow affair but persistent stretching of the legs especially a lying quad stretch with a towel in the crease of my knee is doing wonders. No pain at all not even when I'm lying down :D
I have devised a new training plan with the ball buster in mind 6 ish weeks to go and it look's doable. A crazy swim with a masters session last night. I know you don't swim in the ball buster however my CV fitness is working overtime and the way I see it my knee has a rest from impact. The emphasis this week is stretching and a few more 5 k runs and 1 hilly bike ride.

I can't get to a computer as often as I would like so I have been writing everything down. I'm much happier doing this as I can see how it all works. This computer lark is just a phase I'm sure of it, too complicated and it just won't catch on. Until the craze of the computer has gone I will update this once a week or so.
The week of 22/01 consisted of

Monday- Core work (all core work includes lot's of stretching)

Tuesday- 5k run +25min. Pain in mr ITB (more stretching and roller work)

Wednesday- Masters Swim, thought I was going to drown

Thursday- 5 k tempo run not too painful the stretch is helping, + spin 20 min hill work 20 min sprint work

Friday- Stretch work as often as possible (20mins 5 times in the day)

Saturday- 5 k tempo run 22mins No issues getting very happy with the times, I felt I could have pushed it a little quicker.

Sunday- Bike work all hills. First 10 miles done in 28 mins next 10 miles 35 mins (relentless hill repeats). Afterwards stopped for coffee and cake with Ben and a slow ride home.
