Tuesday 9th Nov

swim set: 2x20min working on pacing.

eve: brick (turbo): 5min w/u @ 63% (150W), 55mins @73% (220W) no HR creep for a steady effort. 30min run, easy pace 7-7:15min/mile @74% HR. A great session, maybe a little too long for taper but was great for run confidence. Foot felt fine and more importantly, still feels fine this morning :-)
No? Tough. We're doing it.

I wouldn't get too excited, my power meter prob needs calibrating :lol: .. oh and I'm very unlucky in races. I'm convinced something is going to happen on the day... though I have spare tubes, chain splitter, missing links ;-)

Besides, I haven't ridden my TT bike on the road since July, so any high winds could be interesting; and my long distance running is questionable after a lack of long runs over the last two weeks.

I'm at btown on Saturday for a tune up and they're helping me pack my bike :-)

Saturday 12th Nov

1hr run: a bit of a dress rehearsal using new BCTTT tri top and cycling jersey, carrying all gels I plan to start the run with. The tri top has side pockets (2gels) which hug the waist nicely so no bounce from the gels. Likewise the race fit jersey hugs the waist so no bounce from the 5gels. The only downside is that both tops leave a bit of belly on show :roll: Still way better the the usual cycling jersey I use as with 9 gels at IMCH, there was loads of bounce and felt very heavy, which is very annoying.

Nothing special about the run (76%, 7-7:15min/mile) other than my foot feels fine :-D I have to switch to new kwicky blades as the current ones are worn down already after only 150ish miles!!

Sunday 13th Nov

session 1: short swim: 200 w/u, 20min at race pace.

session 2: turbo 55mins: 20min w/u - 160W @ 63%; 10min build to 78% (240W); 5min 68% (200W); 10min 68% (200W) -> 81% (340W) -> 68% (200W) - 4 times; 10min w/d 63%.
No? Tough. We're doing it.

Monday 14th Nov

prob the last entry...

lunch great swim (500 w/u, 300 kick, 10x100 sprints.. most consistent I've been in ages.. 400 drills)

eve: 30min to give the new shoes a spin. Glad I changed to the new pair. If anyone is looking for a newton alternative, try Kswiss kwicky blade lights.. awesome shoes. The run was a leg tester with a bit of sub 6 shinanigans for the laugh as it'll be the last time I'll do it for a few months ;-)
